Overview

Department or Program:
Education

Educational leaders, researchers and advocates work across K12 and higher educational contexts, from within schools, and across communities, organizations, and legislative offices. Increasingly, collaborating and partnering reciprocally with multiple stakeholders is key to transforming education for social justice. This Discovery is designed to introduce concepts, theories and perspectives in urban schooling, educational politics and policy, research for praxis, and critical theories in education. With a foundation in advocating and leading for educational justice, coursework, experiential learning activities, and undergraduate research opportunities are structured to prepare students to study how educational systems, policies and programs have the potential to lead toward just, equitable and accessible K-12 and higher educational systems.
