Pathways Curriculum

Students must complete the Pathways Curriculum in order to receive a baccalaureate degree.听The Pathways Curriculum has six curricular requirements, and three optional elements that provide the foundation in the liberal arts and sciences for all the bachelor鈥檚 degrees awarded by 性爱天堂. Through these requirements, students acquire the necessary skills and disciplinary perspectives to navigate complex questions at 性爱天堂 and in their post-graduate lives.
Financial Mathematics
Common financial problems and the mathematics of their solutions. Examples include portfolio selection, option pricing, arbitrage, single-agent optimization, the Fundamental Theorem of Asset Pricing, and the Black-Scholes formula.
Statistical Methods for Business and Economics
Applications of statistical techniques to problems in business and economics, including sampling, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and other statistical techniques. Students also learn how to use modern statistical software.
Financial Institutions and Markets
Analytical investigation of the structure, efficiency, and regulation of financial markets and institutions. Topics include determination of the level and structure of interest rates, asset valuation, the flow of funds between markets, theory and practice of financial intermediation, and the social utility of the financial sector.
Student Managed Fund
Combines the study of security analysis and portfolio management with practical demands of hands-on money management. Students have the unique opportunity to actually invest university endowment funds.
International Finance
This course emphasizes the study of the global exchange, financial equilibrium relations and their effects on international capital markets, and the application of theoretical tools in a multinational corporate environment.
Investments
Discover the world of investing. Part I of this course sequence is an analysis of financial instruments including securities and bonds, as well as macro and industry sector analysis. Part II covers less common investment vehicles such as real estate, private equity, hedge funds, and venture capital.
