1. Consider Costs and Funding

   Typical college costs include tuition, fees, living expenses, books and supplies, as well as personal and transportation costs.

   Apply for Additional Funding
   In order to apply for additional financial assistance, families must submit the appropriate financial aid applications by our preferred deadlines:

   Dec. 1, 2023 for Spring 2024 transfer students
   May 1, 2024 for Fall 2024 transfer students

2. Submit your deposit

   To officially become an enrolled Tiger, you must reserve your spot by taking three actions in your portal:
   ❏ Accepting your offer of admission
   ❏ Submitting your non-refundable $500 enrollment deposit
   ❏ Completing the New Student Information Form

3. Submit required forms and surveys

   After submitting your deposit, make sure to complete these forms:

   Housing Application** - December 6 for Spring entry; July��1 for Fall entry
   Those who completed high school in May/June 2022 or 2023 will fill out an online survey about lifestyle preferences, such as sleep and social habits and degree of neatness, that will be used to match you with a compatible roommate. The application will be available in the applicant status portal.

   **This only applies to entering students who are required to live on campus under �԰�����’s 3-year residency requirement. Students who graduated from high school in May/June 2021 or prior are exempt from the housing requirement.

   Health Requirements - Due January 2 for Spring entry; July 15 for Fall entry
   Submit the Health Requirements once they are available on the “Health Services” tab of your applicant status portal, and upload proof of medical insurance if applicable.

   Sports Medicine Packet - Due January 2 for Spring entry; July 15 for Fall entry
   Student-athletes must complete a packet of pre-participation and sports medicine forms in addition to the health record form. This packet will be emailed to students.

   Transcripts - Due January 2 for Spring entry; July 15 for Fall entry
   Your final high school transcript (indicating date of high school graduation) and any/all college transcripts must be submitted to �԰����� prior to the start of your entry term.

4. Get Acquainted with Academics

   �԰����� offers a rigorous yet flexible curriculum enhanced with a wide range of interdisciplinary programs and special opportunities.

   Academic Advising
   �԰�����’s Office of Academic Advising is committed to a holistic and developmental advising model focused on your personal and academic curiosity, growth, and success. Early in December, you will be contacted by Lapetra�� Bowman Ph.D., your assigned academic adviser, who will help you get acclimated to�� your new campus, review general university requirements, Pathways’ curriculum requirements, preliminary major/minor degree requirements, the course bulletin, and the class schedule.

   She will also teach you how to navigate �԰�����’s automated student system and our registration process and will discuss what degree requirements may be met with your tentative transfer work (N.B. how courses transfer into �԰����� is determined by the Registrar). Still, together you will explore course options and build your spring course schedule in preparation for registration.��

   Ultimately, she will work closely with you to facilitate your seamless journey to graduation during your first few semesters at �԰����� until you declare your major (at which point you will be assigned to a major-specific faculty adviser). 5. Move In

   All students living on campus will move-in on Sunday, January 7, 2024. Spring New Tiger Orientation for all new students will begin on Sunday, January 7, 2024, and conclude on Monday, January 8, 2024.��

1. Make it Official

   To officially become an enrolled Tiger, you must reserve your spot��in the Class of 2028 by taking three actions in your portal:
   ❏ Accepting your offer of admission

2. Prepare for your student visa

   After you submit your deposit, you’ll receive an email from��International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS)��with instructions for securing your immigration status/visa in order to attend �԰�����.

   F-1 Visa/Status

   If your intention is to attend �԰����� on F-1 visa/status, then �԰����� ISSS will need to issue you a Form I-20, Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status. In order to start this process, ISSS requires the following:

   International Student Financial Certification Form
   A new and completed �԰����� International Student Financial Certification Form, with supporting financial documentation (bank statements, etc.). This form is separate from any financial documents you have previously submitted to the Office of Admissions.

   Passport
   A scan or photocopy of your current passport.

   Please return the completed Financial Certification form and all materials requested to ISSS.

   Other Visa/Status Classifications

   International students who are not intending to attend �԰����� on F-1 visa/status and therefore will not require a Form I-20 do not need to provide any financial information to our office. Instead, you must provide copies or scans of all your current immigration information, including your passport ID page, current visa, electronic I-94, and Notice of Action.

3. Register for Tiger Takeoff

   Start your �԰����� experience with our summer orientation program, Tiger Takeoff, where you’ll be welcomed by faculty, staff, and students who are ready to help you be successful. During Tiger Takeoff, you will get a glimpse into life as a Tiger with an overnight stay in our residence halls and plenty of informative sessions to help you get to know our campus and academic resources.

   FYE & Academic Advising
   The First-Year Experience (FYE) is designed to acquaint you with the fundamentals of college learning. It will prepare you to thrive at �԰�����. The FYE pairs a discussion-driven seminar with a writing workshop; each half builds on the other reciprocally. Ideas posed in one part of the course are deepened and detailed in the other. A six-credit-hour course, FYE meets each day of the week: twice in seminar, twice in writing workshop, and once in a plenary session called the Common Learning Experience. All first-year students are required to complete an FYE course.

   In early May, you'll receive an Academic Interest Survey with information about��the different FYE topics, and you'll be asked to rank your top five preferences.��Although we cannot guarantee your first choice due to variations in course��popularity and the number of available seats, we make a concerted effort to place all students in a course they will enjoy.

Early in the summer, you will be assigned a discipline-specific professional academic adviser who will help you get acclimated to your new campus, review general university requirements, Pathways’ curriculum requirements, preliminary major/minor degree requirements, the course bulletin, and the class schedule. Your academic adviser will also teach you how to navigate �԰�����’s automated student system and our registration process. Additionally, together you will explore course options and will build your fall course schedule in preparation for registration later in the summer.

   Ultimately, your academic adviser will work closely with you to facilitate your seamless journey to graduation during your first few semesters at �԰����� until you declare your major (at which point you will be assigned to a major-specific faculty adviser).    Placement Exams
   Some students may need to take placement exams to ensure they are placed in the appropriate course level at �԰�����. �԰����� offers placement exams in math, language, and music theory.

6. Move In

   Mark your calendars for Move-In Day on Friday, Aug. 23, when you will move into your residence hall and start your year as a �԰����� Tiger! ��Swarms of faculty, staff, students, and alumni—dubbed Team �԰�����—help you move your belongings from your car to your room. Move-in day marks the beginning of New Tiger Orientation, which is filled with tons of activities to make sure you become familiar with campus, prepared for classes, and have the chance to participate in some fun and unique social events.��

   IMPORTANT! �԰����� International Student Orientation (ISO) is a mandatory two-day orientation program that takes place before New Tiger Orientation and is designed to assist new international students (including transfer and exchange students) with familiarizing themselves with �԰����� and immigration regulations related to their visa. This orientation is mandatory for non-U.S. citizens and optional for U.S. citizens schooling outside of the United States.
