• I received my Ph.D. in the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Peking University (2004) specializing in Aesthetics of Literature. With an emphasis on Comparative Literature, my M.A. in Literary Theory from Shandong Normal University was completed in 2001.

    My undergraduate diplomas were in both Chinese literature and English from Shandong and Qufu universities respectively. I did my postdoc project on contemporary Chinese art in the Academy of Arts and Design at Tsinghua University (2004鈥2007). Before coming to 性爱天堂 (2007), I taught classical Chinese Literature at Chonbuk National University, South Korea. In 2005鈥2006, I was a visiting scholar in the U.S. at the East-West Center, Hawaii and Princeton University.
